Val Gardena is the most requested destination for travellers landing in Verona: about 200 km to Ortisei, 210 to Santa Cristina, 215 to Selva. The route leaves the A22 at Chiusa or Bolzano Nord and climbs the valley. This is the heart of the Sellaronda circuit and the gateway to Seceda and the Alpe di Siusi, with access to the entire Dolomiti Superski area on a single ski pass.

Alta Badia: Corvara, La Villa, San Cassiano, Colfosco

Corvara is about 230 km from Verona Airport, with an arrival time between 2 hours 45 minutes and 3 hours depending on weather and on the route chosen into Val Badia. Alta Badia is the choice for wide pistes, the Gran Risa and a serious food scene: many hotels here sit on minor roads where a door-to-door transfer makes a real difference compared with public transport.

Alpe di Siusi, Castelrotto and Siusi allo Sciliar

The Alpe di Siusi is about 2 hours 10 minutes from Verona, some 185 km in total. The transfer arrives in Siusi allo Sciliar or Castelrotto, where the cable car climbs up to the plateau. It is the easiest destination for families and beginners, with wide runs and gentle gradients right below the Sciliar massif.

Val di Fassa: Canazei, Campitello, Moena, Pozza

Val di Fassa runs along the road climbing from Predazzo towards the Pordoi Pass: Moena is about 210 km from Verona, Canazei about 230 km and just under 3 hours. From Canazei and Campitello you can join the Sellaronda in both directions, and it is the most practical base for Col Rodella and the Marmolada.

Madonna di Campiglio and Val Rendena

Madonna di Campiglio is about 190 km from Verona Airport, with a journey time of around 2 hours 30 minutes. The route leaves the A22 at Trento and climbs the Valle dei Laghi and Val Rendena through Pinzolo. Val di Sole: Folgarida, Marilleva, Passo Tonale, Pejò

Folgarida and Marilleva are about 200 km from Verona and form, together with Madonna di Campiglio, the Skiarea Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta. Passo Tonale, higher up the same valley, is about 2 hours 45 minutes away and is the choice for reliable snow well into spring thanks to the Presena glacier.

Bolzano, Obereggen and Val d'Ega

Bolzano is the alpine city closest to Verona Airport: about 170 km, under two hours. From there the Val d'Ega leads to Obereggen, Nova Levante and Carezza in barely another half hour. It is a popular solution for combining a ski week with time in the city, the Christmas markets or the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology.

Paganella, San Martino di Castrozza and eastern Trentino

Andalo and Fai della Paganella are the closest ski resorts of all: about 140 km and an hour and three quarters from the airport. San Martino di Castrozza, at the foot of the Pale di San Martino, is about 2 hours 30 minutes away via the Primiero valley. Both are practical destinations for short stays and snow weekends starting from Lake Garda.

Kronplatz, Val Pusteria and Cortina d'Ampezzo

Brunico and Kronplatz are about 240 km from Verona, roughly 2 hours 45 minutes along the A22 to Bressanone and then into the Val Pusteria. Cortina d'Ampezzo, about 280 km and a little over 3 hours from Verona Airport, is also served in combination with Venice Airport for travellers arriving on other routes.

Skis, snowboards and luggage: how the equipment travels
